Travel Nursing Job Details

- Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week; overtime after 48 hours worked
- Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
- Weekend and Holiday Rotation: Every other weekend and every other holiday
- Patient Ratio: Typically 1:4
- Float Expectations: Float to inpatient units as needed
Travel RN Job Requirements
- Active Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license
- At least 2 years of recent IMC, PCU, or telemetry nursing experience
- At least 1 year of strong cardiac nursing experience in a cardiac stepdown, intermediate cardiac, or cardiac ICU setting
- Demonstrated experience managing Amiodarone, Cardizem, and nitroglycerin infusions
- At least one completed travel nursing assignment
- At least 1 year of recent Epic electronic health record (EHR) charting experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Ability to successfully complete an EKG assessment during the first week
- Associate degree or nursing certificate required; bachelor’s degree preferred
- Strong communication, organization, adaptability, and independent clinical judgment
Cardiac Progressive Care RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for cardiac progressive care and telemetry patients in a high-turnover environment
- Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
- Care for patients recovering from CABG, valve surgery, thoracotomy, vascular procedures, cardiac catheterization, pacemaker placement, defibrillator procedures, and ablations
- Manage patients with arrhythmias, congestive heart failure, acute chest pain, myocardial infarction, and other complex cardiac conditions
- Safely administer and monitor cardiac infusions, including Amiodarone, Cardizem, and nitroglycerin, according to established protocols
- Provide care for medical-surgical overflow patients with conditions such as detoxification needs, diabetic ketoacidosis, COPD exacerbation, respiratory failure, and femoral-popliteal bypass recovery
- Complete accurate and timely patient assessments, medication administration, care planning, and documentation in Epic
- Float to other inpatient units as needed while maintaining safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care
- Collaborate effectively with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support positive patient outcomes
