Job Title: Tooling Engineer
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Work Arrangement: Onsite
Experience Level: 3-5 Years
Pay Rate: $40-$45/hr

• Serve as a technical leader for the tooling engineering function, supporting production and tooling operations.
• Ensure the reliability, performance, availability, and readiness of production tooling and molds.
• Manage and maintain tooling spare parts and critical replacement components.
• Lead tooling repair, refurbishment, modification, and improvement initiatives.
• Analyze tooling performance and maintenance data to determine whether molds should be refurbished, repaired, modified, or replaced.
• Provide engineering support for production issues involving molds, tooling, fixtures, and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot tooling and injection molding problems and identify root causes.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, and Production teams to resolve tooling-related issues.
• Provide technical guidance and engineering direction to tooling personnel.
• Develop and maintain tooling documentation, specifications, drawings, maintenance records, and engineering change documentation.
• Create and review detailed engineering drawings using SolidWorks.
• Apply GD&T principles to tooling designs, drawings, and manufacturing requirements.
• Support tooling projects from concept and design through fabrication, qualification, implementation, and production support.
• Drive projects lasting several months with minimal supervision while maintaining schedules, deliverables, and technical objectives.
• Evaluate machining and fabrication requirements and work with internal or external suppliers as needed.
• Identify opportunities for lean manufacturing, process improvement, cost reduction, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
• Ensure tooling activities comply with applicable quality, regulatory, and documentation requirements in a GMP/GLP environment.
