Technical Specialist-Mainframe

NCDHHS is seeking an experienced Technical Specialist-Expert / Mainframe Specialist with strong expertise in z/OS, CICS, DB2, Endevor, IMS, JCL, and Elixir . The resource will provide mainframe administration, configuration/release management, troubleshooting, SQL optimization, and technical support to application developers and DIT teams.

Job Summary
NCDHHS is seeking an experienced Technical Specialist-Expert / Mainframe Specialist with strong expertise in z/OS, CICS, DB2, Endevor, IMS, JCL, and Elixir. The resource will provide mainframe administration, configuration/release management, troubleshooting, SQL optimization, and technical support to application developers and DIT teams.
Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert support for z/OS operating system and mainframe environments.
• Manage configuration and release activities using Endevor.
• Support DB2, SQL development, tools, and utilities.
• Analyze complex SQL queries and recommend performance and cost improvements.
• Provide CICS administration, troubleshooting, and debugging support.
• Collaborate with application developers and DIT personnel on technical issues.
• Support mainframe technologies including CICS, DB2, IMS, JCL, and Elixir.
• Provide middleware and MQ support as needed.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience with z/OS and its functionality/interrelationships.
• 7+ years of Endevor configuration/release management experience.
• 7+ years of SQL programming experience.
• 7+ years working with DB2 tools and utilities.
• 7+ years evaluating complex SQL queries and improving performance.
• Strong CICS administration, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
