Join us as a Permanent Safety Specialist in the Manufacturing industry to bring your expertise in hazard control, incident investigations, safety audits, and more to our team. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where you will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving our safety standards. As a Safety Specialist, you will leverage your strong organizational and documentation skills to develop, implement, and monitor safety programs and protocols. You will be a key player in ensuring the safety and well-being of our workforce. We're looking for a dedicated professional with 5+ years of experience in a similar role, ready to hit the ground running and make a significant impact on our operations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
- Plan and implement training for employees in work site safety practices.
- Conduct safety inspections and participate in audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Perform hazard assessments, job hazard analysis (JHA) and job safety analysis (JSA).
- Conduct incident investigations, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Track and analyze incident data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Maintain safety files and records, ensuring accurate documentation of all safety processes and incidents.
- Promote a culture of safety among employees through education, training, and communication.
- Stay up-to-date with latest safety regulations and best practices in the industry.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Safety, Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a safety specialist role within the manufacturing industry.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety procedures in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in hazard control, incident investigations, corrective action tracking, and safety audit processes.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills, with attention to detail.
- Proficient in performing JHA/JSA.
- Excellent communication and training skills.
- Ability to identify and evaluate potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be willing to travel as needed for site visits and audits.
