A Snapshot of Your DayJoin our team as a Substation Technical Sales Manager and lead business development for our high-voltage substation EPC portfolio. As the primary technical authority, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams and industry stakeholders to deliver custom solutions for major capital projects valued from millions to hundreds of millions of dollars. In this role, you will analyze complex customer specifications, craft compelling technical presentations, and autonomously steer complex sales cycles from initial engagement through multi-million-dollar contract negotiations. By building long-term relationships with key client accounts and leveraging industry expertise, you will play a central role in shaping the future of grid infrastructure and advancing power industry innovation.Location: Raleigh, North Carolina (Preferred) | Orlando, Florida
How You'll Make an ImpactLead the sales strategy for the substation portfolio - power transformers, high-voltage circuit breakers and switchgear, and balance of plant (BoP) - across utility, data center, industrial, and IPP customers.Advance EPC conversion by proactively identifying equipment-only and component opportunities that can be developed into turnkey substation EPC scopes.Develop long-term relationships with key accounts, EPC contractors, consultants, and developers to grow market share and secure repeat turnkey business.Serve as the primary technical sales authority for substation solutions, translating customer specifications into competitive technical concepts and value-based offers.Prepare and deliver technical and commercial presentations that articulate the value of a single-source EPC solution for customers.Manage large, complex bids with a high degree of autonomy, partnering with commercial, engineering, procurement, project management, and legal teams to ensure competitive, compliant, and executable offers.Lead negotiations on multi-million-dollar projects and framework agreements.Contribute to a company culture focused on excellence in execution of the substations business area.
What You BringBachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field required.10 or more years of experience in customer facing technical sales, business development, application engineering, or project execution roles within the power transmission and distribution industry required.Product and application knowledge of power transformers, high-voltage circuit breakers and switchgear (AIS and GIS), with GIS experience preferred.Demonstrated experience as a subject matter expert in managing large, complex technical sales opportunities or project execution a plus.Working knowledge of substation balance of plant - civil and structural works, foundations, grounding, control houses, protection and control, cabling, and site construction a plus.Familiarity with substation EPC delivery models, scope splits, subcontracting, schedule and risk drivers, and typical utility and data center specifications and standards.Commercial acumen in pricing, estimating, contract terms and conditions, and risk mitigation for large turnkey projects.Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills across all levels of customer organizations, up to and including executive leadership.A solution-oriented, entrepreneurial mindset and a great attitude.Travel, as needed (~30%).
