    Job Overview:

    The Technical Writer I plays a vital role in transforming complex technical information into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation. This role is responsible for creating and maintaining a variety of technical materials such as user/operator manuals, guides, SOP's, product insert sheets and technical graphics. The Technical Writer I collaborates closely with subject matter experts, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather information and ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation. This multifaceted role involves producing high-quality documentation and visual aids that effectively communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

    Major Tasks and Responsibilities:

    • Create, modify, and update technical documentation including operator training SOP's, installation manuals, operation manuals, owner's manuals, quick start guides, insert sheets and other technical related documents for American and European markets.

    • Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, Lab Technicians and other subject matter experts to gather information for the creation of accurate and original content.

    • Collect information from the production floor, via direct employee feedback, observation-based methods, operational metrics, quality & safety data, digital data collection.

    • Update documentation to reflect changes in product features and functionality.

    • Edit and review existing documentation for consistency and adherence to style guidelines.

    • Produce technical graphics and illustrations for use in a variety of supporting documentation and publications.

    • Audit and update website links when documents are created, revised, or updated.

    • Assist in translation efforts with outside providers to supply multi-lingual versions of original publications and materials.

    • Work with cross-functional teams to deliver effective documentation solutions and continuously improve documentation processes and templates for efficiency and effectiveness.

    Requirements:

    Capabilities/Qualifications:

    • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with excellent attention to detail.

    • Proficiency in using a range of documentation tools and software with strengths in Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.

    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

    • Knowledge of pool products, equipment, and systems is a plus.

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.

    • Passion for creating clear and user-friendly documentation that enhances the customer experience.

    • Familiarity with documentation standards, style guides, and industry best practices.

    Education / Experience:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, Engineering or equivalent related experience

    • Previous experience in technical writing, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment.

    • Experience with creating, editing and converting both raster and vector technical graphics.

    • Experience with content management systems and version control systems is advantageous.
