Tax Director - Private Investment Fund - Boston - Hybrid 

A growing Boston-based investment firm is seeking a Tax Director to lead tax compliance and planning across a complex portfolio of investment funds, SPVs, and management company entities. This is a high-impact opportunity to partner with senior finance leadership, investors, legal counsel, and external advisors while helping build scalable tax processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee federal, state, and local tax compliance, including partnership returns, K-1s, and investor tax reporting.

• Advise on fund structuring, investor tax considerations, and complex partnership tax matters, including QBI, UBTI, and QSBS.

• Partner with legal, finance, and investor relations on investment structuring, carried interest, tax distributions, and related initiatives.

• Manage external tax advisors and ensure timely, accurate deliverables.

• Lead tax planning, technical research, and process improvements across fund and management company entities.

• Monitor tax law developments and assess implications for the firm and its investors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Taxation, plus 10-15 years of tax experience, including substantial partnership tax experience.

• Strong understanding of private investment funds, SPVs, and alternative investment structures.

• Experience with in-kind distributions, investor tax allocations, and complex fund structures.

• Strong technical research, analytical, and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and operate at both a strategic and detailed level.
