Tax Associate | Investment Management | Boston 

A leading Boston-based investment firm is seeking a Tax Associate to join its growing tax team. This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional with 2–5 years of experience and exposure to hedge funds, private equity, or investment fund taxation to develop their expertise in a sophisticated investment environment.

Compensation: $90,000-120,000

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax returns for hedge funds, private equity funds, investment partnerships, and management entities.
• Support partnership tax compliance, including Schedule K-1s, allocations, and investor tax reporting.
• Work with external tax advisors and public accounting firms to coordinate tax compliance and reporting.
• Assist with tax research, technical analysis, and responding to tax-related inquiries.
• Support tax planning initiatives and identify opportunities to improve tax processes and reporting.
• Maintain accurate tax documentation and assist with various tax projects and deadlines.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of relevant tax experience in public accounting, investment management, or a combination of both.
• Experience with hedge funds, private equity, investment partnerships, or alternative investment clients is required.
• Background in public accounting, preferably within a tax practice serving financial services or alternative investment clients.
• Strong understanding of partnership taxation and fund tax compliance.
• CPA license or progress toward CPA certification preferred.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills with strong attention to detail.
