Talent Sourcing Specialist

As a Talent Sourcing Specialist at Sentara Health, you will bring your talent acquisition expertise to life by proactively identifying and engaging top professionals across multiple business channels. This role is built for a resourceful, relationship-driven sourcing professional who thrives on generating authentic interest from passive candidates and building pipelines that fuel Sentara’s mission to improve health every day.

Sourcing & Candidate Engagement

  • Develop and execute creative, targeted sourcing strategies to attract qualified candidates for a broad range of frontline and specialty roles—matching talent to opportunities based on knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Generate and sustain passive candidate interest through personalized outreach, compelling messaging, and a deep understanding of Sentara’s culture and value proposition.
  • Build and maintain robust talent pipelines for current and anticipated hiring needs, ensuring a ready bench of qualified candidates across key skill sets.
  • Support the planning and execution of hiring events—both in-person and virtual—including planning coordination, candidate communications, and on-site or online facilitation.

Collaboration & Relationship Building

  • Partner closely with Talent Acquisition colleagues, hiring managers and to align sourcing strategies with workforce priorities and organizational goals.
  • Cultivate strategic relationships across business lines to stay attuned to talent needs, role requirements, and departmental culture.
  • Serve as a trusted resource and subject matter expert on sourcing best practices, passive candidate engagement, and market intelligence.

Technology & Market Intelligence

  • Leverage ATS, CRM, and sourcing platforms with confidence and precision to manage candidate workflows, track outreach effectiveness, and optimize pipeline activity.
  • Stay current with industry trends, competitive intelligence, and emerging sourcing techniques through ongoing market research and professional development.
  • Identify and champion opportunities to improve sourcing tools, processes, and efficiencies—always looking for smarter ways to connect people with purpose.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field—or equivalent professional experience.

Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in talent sourcing, full-cycle recruiting, or talent acquisition, with a demonstrated ability to attract qualified candidates across diverse roles and skill sets.
  • Proven success utilizing a range of recruitment tools and resources, including sourcing platforms, social media, job boards, and referral networks.
  • Track record of performing in a metric-driven environment, with the ability to set goals, measure effectiveness, and continuously improve sourcing outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience & Location

  • 3+ years of multi-state recruitment experience, including geography-based sourcing strategies and an understanding of regional talent markets, labor trends, and competitive landscapes.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), Candidate Relationship Management (CRM) tools, and Microsoft Office Suite—comfortable navigating multiple platforms simultaneously.
  • Experience supporting employer branding initiatives, hiring events, or talent marketing campaigns that drive candidate awareness and engagement.
  • Current Virginia (VA) resident preferred, with familiarity with the Hampton Roads and broader Mid-Atlantic talent market considered a strong advantage.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $68,598.40 - $103,396.80 annually. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs. Note: If an annual salary is posted, it is based on a full-time colleague working 2,080 hours annually.
