Summary:
Reviews and assesses existing and potential NDT methods for composite and metallic materials.
Qualifies NDT personnel and oversees supplier NDT operations.
Maintains and upgrades NDT equipment and procedures.
Develops NDT procedures for production, fabrication, and modification of aircraft components.
Supports composite part fabrication and production processes with NDT oversight.
Reviews engineering drawings, models, and specifications for NDT applicability.
Evaluates and approves supplier NDT qualifications, procedures, and equipment.
Troubleshoots and resolves NDT-related technical issues in manufacturing environments.
Performs engineering analysis to ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and company requirements.
Collaborates with cross-functional teams and technical staff to define and implement NDT solutions.
Requirements:
Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, physics, materials science, or related field.
5+ years of experience in NDT methods (ultrasonic, radiographic, eddy current, penetrant, magnetic particle).
Experience with NDT of composite materials and structures for aerospace applications.
Experience with NDT process qualification, equipment calibration, and personnel certification.
ASNT Level II or III certification in at least one NDT method.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical requirements.
Experience with NDT data acquisition, analysis, and reporting.
Knowledge of FAA, AS9100, or NADCAP NDT requirements.
Proficiency with NDT software tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
