SUMMARY
The National Support Specialist (NSS) ensures excellence and continuous improvement throughout the organization in assigned modalities. The NSS will develop standardized maintenance procedures, manage assigned maintenance activities, perform service repairs as needed, and oversee the required documentation trail of assigned diagnostic imaging modalities. The NSS will provide technical support to staff to support multi-vendor, multi-modality biomedical equipment.
️ DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Serves as the company technical expert in assigned modalities
Works closely with Supply Chain to ensure the quality of parts and service providers
Monitors and drives improvement of field technical staff expertise
Travels and assists with complex service calls when deemed appropriate by the NSS and Service Line leader.
Works with InterMed staff and others to ensure monthly compliance reporting is accurate and meets regulatory and customer requirements.
Assist with PM Scheduling, proper pm checklists are being utilized and working with management to identify additional opportunities for training staff.
Assists in the design of support programs and offerings that add value to all client types
Answers FBS inquiries regarding customer software or hardware operation to resolve problems.
Ensures down systems are returned to service as rapidly and efficiently as practical
As needed, it creates customized internal training materials and procedures, and trains users in the proper use of hardware or software.
Conference with staff, users, and management to establish requirements for new or used systems or upgrades.
Conducts service feasibility studies, including risk mitigation analysis, recurring service issues, and/or system cost analysis.
Other service needs as deemed necessary by the operations team.
PREFFERED EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS
Four-year college degree is preferred but not required
At least five years of managerial experience in a contract management environment.
PREFFERED SKILLS
Bachelor's degree in engineering and 5 years industry experience or bachelor's degree in engineering technology and 7 years industry experience, or associate's degree in technology (to include military or OEM training, industry recognized technical training program) and 10 years industry experience at the minimum.
Minimum of 10 years of experience servicing and maintaining advanced multi-vendor/multi-modality biomedical equipment.
Possess specialized knowledge in several specialized modalities such as sterilizers, anesthesia, heart-lung machines, balloon pumps, and other identified specialty devices.
Strong track record of client or customer satisfaction.
Proven the ability to develop and implement new business models in the healthcare support services markets.
Proven ability to work effectively in an unstructured, fast-paced and P&L driven environment.
Experienced in successful resolution of complex problems under pressure.
Strong analytical skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) certification preferred.
Specialty modality specific certificates of competency.
Possess a valid driver's license and maintain a good driving record.
Experience training technical personnel in on-the-job training situations.
️ WORKING CONDITIONS
Requires constant contact with staff and the public. Work is performed in air conditioned/heated facilities.
Requires exposure to outside elements up to 10% of the time.
Travel to customer sites, meetings, and training up to 20%.
SPECIAL EQUIPMENT
Requires frequent (40% to 60% of the time) standing, walking, and bending for long periods of time.
Requires frequent (40% to 60% of the time) sitting and working on a computer screen.
Requires constant ability to drive and move freely around the customer's offices which could include climbing stairs and reaching in cabinets.
Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Lifts up to 50 pounds occasionally.
