    Description

    Sterilization & Surgical Equipment Service Specialist

    Your mission

    • Keep hospital equipment operating at peak performance by performing troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance on STERIS and competitor systems.
    • Own your schedule—plan and execute PMs, service and warranty calls, installations, and field upgrades to meet Customer commitments.
    • Document work thoroughly in mobile/digital platforms to meet regulatory and compliance requirements.
    • Partner with Tech Support, Engineering, and Service Contract Management to quickly escalate and resolve complex issues.
    • Provide Customers with clear information, pricing, and repair options; collaborate with Sales and learn to spot territory sales opportunities that enhance Customer experience.
    • Travel within the assigned territory to support multiple facilities as service agreements dictate.

    Role type and location

    Remote, Customer-facing field role serving hospital environments. Candidates must be based in California to serve the assigned territory.

    Backgrounds that succeed

    • HVAC, mechanics, maintenance, refrigeration, boilers/chillers
    • Equipment repair, diesel/automotive, aviation repair
    • Plumbing, electrical, or similar skilled trades

    What you’ll bring

    • High School Diploma or GED and 4+ years of work experience, with 2+ years in a mechanical/technical capacity; an associate degree, technical certifications, competitive equipment training, or related military experience may count toward technical experience.
    • Valid driver’s license and the ability to meet required background and physical assessment elements for vendor credentialing.
    • Customer service mindset and team-collaboration skills.
    • Strong written and verbal communication.
    • Comfort with Windows/email, navigation, mobile apps, and entering data across multiple systems.
    • Schedule flexibility, including potential overnights and early/late hours to support Customer needs.
