STEAM/SEL Encore Teacher Position
This role will focus on bridging STEAM and SEL through our Leader in Me framework. This will be implemented during the special area rotation.
JOB SUMMARY: Design, plan, and deliver engaging instruction in an elementary setting that supports students in reaching their academic potential. Foster a positive, developmentally appropriate learning environment that promotes student growth, engagement, and leadership skills.
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate educator to serve as the teacher in a unique role that integrates STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) and SEL (Social-Emotional Learning) through the Leader in Me framework. This position is designed to inspire students to become resilient innovators by fostering creativity, empathy, and leadership skills. The teacher will deliver engaging lessons during the special area rotation, collaborating with colleagues to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development and Instruction:
Design and implement interdisciplinary lessons that merge STEAM concepts with SEL principles, aligned with the Leader in Me framework.
Integrate lessons/content to Academic goal setting impacting schoolwide proficiency goals
Utilize project-based learning strategies to encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration among students.
Incorporate technology and hands-on activities to enhance student engagement and understanding.
Collaboration and Leadership:
Work closely with grade-level teams and special area teachers to integrate activities into the broader curriculum.
Participate in professional learning communities to share best practices and continuously improve instructional methods.
Serve as a role model for students by exemplifying the principles of the Leader in Me program.
Student Assessment and Support:
Assess student progress in both academic and social-emotional domains, providing feedback and support as needed.
Identify and address individual student needs, adapting instruction to ensure all learners can succeed.
Foster a classroom environment that promotes respect, empathy, and a growth mindset.
