This position will lead a team of individuals to execute implementation of LEO grants both federal and state funding incoming and outgoing in support of LEO initiatives. This position will work with the team to oversee implementation, monitoring, and processing federal grants. This team will also be charged with overseeing all State Enhancement Grant administration and serve as the main point-of-contact for grantees throughout the state. This position will proactively lead staff as they implement and execute grant system entry for funding received or being distributed to utilize best practices and develop procedural improvements while executing incoming and outgoing grants during all steps from the moment the funds are received until they are expended/reimbursed and reported.

Position Description Summary

Required Education and Experience

Applicants can qualify for this position by meeting ANY of the following

  • Education level typically acquired through completion of high school AND two years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 14 level; or, one year of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 15 level, may be substituted for the education and experience requirements.
  • Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school AND at least four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level gained in the State of Michigan classified service.
  • Possession of a bachelors degree in any major AND at least four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.

Vacation and Sick Leave: Eligible full-time employees receive between 15 and 35 personal days and 13 sick days per year that may be rolled over to the following year if not used. Eligible employees also receive an additional day each year for community service or school functions.

Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees can take 12 weeks of paid leave immediately after a birth or adoption to allow needed time together at home with a new child.

Paid Holidays: Eligible employees receive 13 or 14 paid holidays each year including New Year's Eve and Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Election Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving Friday, Christmas Eve and Day.
