The Startup Sourcing Analyst plays a front-line role in building venture deal flow by proactively identifying promising early-stage startups. This role emphasizes outbound sourcing, founder engagement, and ecosystem intelligence, supporting investment teams by expanding access to high-quality startup opportunities before they reach traditional venture channels.
Analysts collaborate closely with investors, founders, accelerators, and startup communities to strengthen the firm’s sourcing pipeline.
Identify and source early-stage startups through accelerators, demo days, founder networks, online platforms, and ecosystem events
Conduct initial outreach and introductory conversations with founders
Qualify startups based on team strength, problem relevance, product insight, and market opportunity
Maintain and expand sourcing pipelines using internal CRM and deal-tracking tools
Prepare concise startup summaries, sourcing memos, and opportunity briefs for the investment team
Support thematic sourcing aligned with firm investment theses and priority sectors
Track ecosystem trends, emerging technologies, and founder communities to identify new sourcing opportunities
Collaborate with senior investors on refining sourcing strategies and outreach approaches
Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, entrepreneurship, technology, or a related field
Strong interest in startups, venture capital, and early-stage company building
Experience in venture internships, startup ecosystems, consulting, sales, community management, or campus entrepreneurship is helpful
Comfortable initiating conversations and building relationships with founders
Strong communication, organization, and follow-through skills
Curious, proactive, and motivated by discovering new ideas and people
