STAFF ACCOUNTANT

Staff Accountant Responsibilities:

You'll play a key role in keeping the accounting operation running smoothly, with responsibilities including:

• Own the month-end close, with a goal of completing close within approximately 5 business days.
• 
  
• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
• 
  
• Perform daily cash reconciliations.
• 
  
• Support the accounting team with questions and problem-solving.
• 
  
• Serve as a resource to AP, AR, and Payroll.
• 
  
• Post payroll-related accounting entries.
• 
  
• Help monitor job-cost margins and identify areas where spending may be getting off track.
• 
  
• Assist with audit preparation and the development of processes needed to support future growth.
• 
  
• Identify opportunities to make accounting processes more efficient and streamlined.
• 
  
• Work with Sage Intacct, Industry Specific Software, and Excel, including PivotTables and VLOOKUPs.
• 
  

You won't have direct reports, but you'll be someone others turn to when they need an accounting answer.

What we're looking for in the Staff Accountant:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred.
• 
  
• Strong understanding of GAAP.
• 
  
• Solid foundation in general accounting.
• 
  
• Experience with month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• 
  
• Strong Excel skills; PivotTables and VLOOKUPs are important.
• 
  
• Comfortable working across multiple accounting functions and helping teammates.
• 
  
• Someone who takes ownership and doesn't need to be micromanaged.
• 
  
• A confident communicator who is comfortable being a resource for others.
• 
  
• CPA candidates are welcome, and they can provide support for someone pursuing their CPA.
•

Salary: $75,000–$80,000 base salary + discretionary annual bonus
