Job Description
We are seeking a Junior Developer to join the development team for one of our product lines. The product has built a hosted diagnostic imaging and telemedicine platform, custom built with current web technologies and tools, deployed on AWS in an agile Scrum environment. It gives our customers access to and collaboration on diagnostic radiology. You will work across our full stack .NET, Java, Python, React, and Angular alongside a closely-knit team of developers, designers, product managers, and QA testers. All candidates must have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, at least 3 years of relevant experience, and the ability to multitask in a deadline-oriented environment. The best fit will be a well-rounded individual with a desire to learn and grow, including learning to use AI tools like Claude to work more efficiently.
What will you do?
Design, code, test, debug, and document programs based on technical configurations developed by analysts and project teams. Estimate and track time required to complete work for project budgeting and financial tracking.
Develop program designs to meet technical configurations, ensuring resulting systems operate efficiently and reliably. Understand the business function supported by the application and ensure designs integrate with other related systems.
Code across our stack, using .NET, Java, Python, React, and Angular as appropriate to the task.
Test and debug programs to finalize and ensure smooth operation.
Document program design, coding, and other details to guide others in application development, use, and maintenance.
Support, update, and maintain existing systems in response to business needs, system problems, or other factors. Coordinate with project teams to design, code, test, and document system changes.
Coordinate with project team members to define application requirements. Identify business needs, assess available technologies, and develop and present solutions.
Use Claude and other AI tools to speed up coding, testing, debugging, and documentation, and share efficiency practices with the team.
Provide a high level of customer service, partnering with end users in the resolution of problems or in deployment of new applications.
Participate as an active member of a cross-functional Agile Scrum team.
What do you need to succeed?
At least 3 years of relevant software development experience.
Familiarity with the application development process.
Experience with, or strong interest in learning, .NET, Java, Python, React, and Angular.
Experience with HTML, JavaScript, and building web UIs.
Experience with, or willingness to learn, relational databases (Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server) and Structured Query Language (SQL).
Comfort using AI tools such as Claude to write, review, test, or document code more efficiently.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Excellent customer service and business relationship building skills.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to translate technical subject matter to non-technical audiences.
Ability to work independently and within a cross-functional Agile Scrum team.
Preferred Experience:
BA/BS in Computer Science (or related field) and/or equivalent work experience.
Experience handling raw image data or image files strongly preferred.
Familiarity with AWS.
Knowledge of system monitoring tools like AWS Console and Datadog.
Experience transforming business requirements into elegant designs and clean, unit-tested code.
