Advertising at Amazon is growing incredibly fast by providing efficient tools to drive sales for our vendors and sellers. These customers need tools that help them get the most from their advertising dollar in the least time. As a pioneering Engineer on the MADS Reporting User Experience team, you will build new Agentic AI experiences that help advertisers get the most of their campaign. The systems you will build will scale at high-volume, interface with external systems, have the artificial intelligence to make independent decisions in real-time, and interact with our customers through rich experiences. If you enjoy working with high performing teams, adopting AI-first SDLC practices, being part of a rapidly growing business, and inventing creative solutions to complex problems, this may be the role for you.

Key job responsibilities

The Measurement and Data Science (MADS) Reporting User Experience team is responsible for the software that hundreds of thousands of advertisers use to manage their advertising strategies on Amazon. These tools are also a fast evolving fabric that enable rapid development by teams across Ads. You will collaborate closely with our software leaders, innovate, and contribute to new ads products that our global customers use daily. You will also have the opportunity to expand your technical skills into emerging technologies, and find ways to lead the design of architectures and software technology that are exemplary in terms of robustness, stability, and scalability.

A day in the life

Great candidates for this role enjoy being challenged with discovering solutions to complex problems, diving deep, and thinking big to deliver amazing results for our customers. They enjoy defining architectural strategy, working collaboratively, and take pride in solving customer problems. Most important, they will work shoulder-to-shoulder with other senior engineers, product leaders, and software development managers to deliver truly innovative software.

About the Company

Amazon.com Inc

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
