Position Summary

The Electrical Service Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the service department, ensuring high-quality electrical work, customer satisfaction, and efficient team performance. This role manages service technicians, coordinates service schedules, maintains safety compliance, and supports business growth through client relationships and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

  • Oversee day-to-day service operations, including scheduling, dispatching, and job completion
  • Ensure all service calls are completed efficiently, on time, and within budget
  • Monitor workload distribution and adjust staffing as needed

Team Leadership

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop electrical service technicians and apprentices
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training of new team members

Customer Relations

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and resolve escalated service issues
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships

Technical Oversight

  • Provide guidance on complex electrical troubleshooting and installations
  • Ensure all work meets local, state, and national electrical codes
  • Review completed work for quality assurance

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations
  • Conduct safety meetings and job site inspections
  • Ensure proper documentation and adherence to compliance standards

Financial & Administrative Duties

  • Manage department budgets, labor costs, and material expenses
  • Review and approve service invoices, estimates, and proposals
  • Track KPIs such as productivity, revenue, and service efficiency

Estimating and Project Management

  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for electrical service projects, including labor, materials, and equipment
  • Review drawings, specifications, and scope documents to develop competitive bids and proposals
  • Manage multiple electrical service projects simultaneously from award through closeout
  • Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource plans
  • Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure successful execution
  • Monitor project progress, costs, and profitability; adjust as needed
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, codes, and company policies
  • Manage multiple electrical service projects simultaneously from award through closeout
  • Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource plans
  • Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure successful execution
  • Monitor project progress, costs, and profitability; adjust as needed
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, codes, and company policies

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or degree preferred
  • Journeyman or Master Electrician license preferred (as required by state/local laws)
  • 5-10+ years of electrical experience, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, troubleshooting, and code requirements
  • Proven ability to manage teams and service operations
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
