About the Role

The Company is seeking a General Counsel, Senior Vice President to join its executive leadership team. The successful candidate will be a strategic legal partner, providing enterprise-wide legal counsel and overseeing the Association's legal function. This role is pivotal in supporting the organization's mission, strategic objectives, and business operations, with a focus on fostering trusted relationships, providing strategic legal counsel, and ensuring legal considerations are integrated into all aspects of the Association's activities. The General Counsel will be responsible for a wide range of legal matters, including corporate governance, contracts, employment law, tax-exempt compliance, political law, and intellectual property.Applicants must have a minimum of 10 years' legal experience, with a preference for those who have worked in highly regulated industries. The role requires a leader with a proven track record in legal management, a strong understanding of the legal responsibilities of trade associations and nonprofit organizations, and the ability to balance legal risk with business objectives. The General Counsel will also be involved in significant business transactions, strategic partnerships, and other complex initiatives, and must be adept at influencing and collaborating across multiple functions. A Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school, an active license to practice law, and experience in the renewable or clean energy sector are preferred.
