Senior Property Accountant – Downtown San Francisco

· Generates revenue primarily through long-term leases with corporate, institutional, and government tenants.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage the quarterly close, including supporting schedules and audit binder reports
· Oversee client accounts for accurate monthly billing (rent and lease-required charges) and resolve billing discrepancies
· Prepare quarterly tax and GAAP financial statements, plus revenue and expense variance explanations with Property Management
· Develop financial reports to meet lender and third-party requirements
· Prepare operating expenses and real estate tax escalations, including monthly payments and annual true ups
· Audit property databases (lease tracking, loan summary, rent roll, lease abstracts) and reconcile property accounts
· Support annual portfolio budgets and quarterly re-forecasts with Property Management
· Prepare compliance reports, including sales and use tax returns and I&E forms
· Review management, development, joint venture, and mortgage agreements; interpret leases and enter data into Expense Participation
· Prepare monthly depreciation and compile documentation for client audits
· Partner with Lease Administration, AR, AP, Tax, Finance, Legal, and Financial Reporting, and support the VP and Regional Controllers
Reporting Structure
Reports to the Senior Manager and the VP, Regional Controller.
Compensation & Benefits
· Base salary: $100,000–$115,000, with a bonus of up to 10%

· Final compensation based on skills, experience, qualifications, and location
Work Schedule
Hybrid, with up to six work-from-home days per month, subject to manager approval.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Accounting, or a related field
· 1–3 years of accounting experience required (3–5 strongly preferred); commercial real estate experience preferred
· Advanced Excel skills; JD Edwards experience is a plus
· Strong organization, prioritization, and deadline management, with the ability to multitask and work independently under pressure
· Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing priorities
· Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with demonstrated leadership and teamwork.
