The Opportunity
A premier Pacific Northwest event rental company is hiring a Senior Project Manager to own its largest tented events from the first site walk through install and strike. You'll inherit a well-established, multi-million-dollar portfolio of repeat annual events and grow it through upsells, improvements, and new wins. You'll be the technical authority in the room with experienced event producers and the calm, steady leader on the jobsite with install crews.
The role is about 70% technical/operations and 30% revenue growth. It reports to the Group Vice President and has no direct reports, but you'll lead crews on site through influence.
What You'll Do
Lead client discovery meetings and detailed site surveys covering access/egress, grade, ground conditions, utilities, equipment routes, and venue rules.
Recommend solutions including tent type and size (frame, clearspan, structure), raised/leveled flooring, anchoring/ballast, and guest-flow upgrades.
Build rough budgets, then detailed plans, layouts, and drawings (CAD/Vectorworks/AutoCAD or coordinated with a drafter), and coordinate engineering when needed.
Manage permitting and compliance documentation (egress, occupant load, flame certificates, clearances).
Partner with operations and warehouse leadership on labor, equipment, trucking, staging, sequencing, and production timelines.
Coordinate with venues and vendors (AV, staging, flooring, HVAC/temp power, fencing, utilities) to keep schedules aligned.
Provide on-site leadership during installs and strikes, owning sequencing, safety, quality, and real-time problem solving.
Handle security badging and clearances for restricted-access sites.
Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities on repeat events and compete for new business.
Maintain job files, change documentation, and job costing, and lead post-event debriefs.
What You Bring
5+ years running complex, deadline-driven projects with real site work (not desk-only).
Strong sequencing and scheduling skills; you can build a realistic install and strike timeline.
Experience coordinating multiple vendors and leading crews in the field.
Ability to read and produce scaled layouts (CAD, Bluebeam, or disciplined sketches).
A calm, confident communication style. You can tell a client "no" and offer a safe alternative, and you're comfortable presenting to executives.
Local to the Seattle/Everett area or a firm relocation plan.
Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
Ability to lift up to 60 lbs occasionally and work outdoors in varying weather.
Nice to Have:
Direct tent or temporary structure experience (frame, clearspan, Losberger/Röder-type systems), raised flooring, anchoring/ballast.
CAD, SketchUp, Vectorworks, or similar.
Permitting and fire code experience.
Sales experience: bidding, pricing, or owning a book of business.
OSHA 10/30, forklift, or MEWP/lift certifications.
Familiarity with rental software such as Point of Rental.
Bilingual in Spanish.
Schedule
This is a seasonal, field-connected role. Peak season (April–October) includes early mornings, evenings, weekends, and on-call awareness for urgent issues. The off-season brings a flexible hybrid schedule with planned time away, so work/life balance is real but comes in seasons.
