FindTalent is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Project Manager – Transmission & Distribution Engineering to lead complex utility engineering projects across the Southeast. This position is well-suited for a senior-level professional with deep expertise in electrical utility systems, particularly in T&D engineering, project controls, and cross-functional leadership.

The successful candidate will manage engineering-focused initiatives supporting utility clients through all phases—from planning and design through execution and commissioning. This hybrid role blends office-based project management with site visits and stakeholder engagement, requiring a candidate with strong technical acumen, regulatory knowledge, and client-facing confidence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all phases of T&D engineering projects including conceptual design, detailed design, permitting support, and construction interface

  • Oversee engineering deliverables for transmission lines (overhead/underground), substations, and distribution upgrades

  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams of engineers, CAD designers, and external consultants to ensure quality and timely delivery

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for client utilities, engineering partners, and permitting authorities

  • Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, standards, and applicable codes

  • Monitor project performance in terms of scope, schedule, and budget using tools such as P6, MS Project, and internal controls

  • Lead technical meetings, design reviews, and project updates with internal and external stakeholders

  • Ensure compliance with NESC, NEC, IEEE, OSHA, and applicable Southeastern utility regulations and standards

  • Support material procurement strategies, bid evaluations, and contractor coordination during design-to-construction handoff

  • Provide mentoring and technical guidance to junior engineers and support staff

  • Contribute to lessons learned, quality improvement efforts, and internal best practice initiatives

Education, Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil, or Power Engineering (or related discipline); Master’s degree preferred

  • Minimum 10 years of experience managing utility T&D engineering projects, including at least 5 years in a project leadership role

  • Proven track record managing complex multi-million-dollar projects in regulated utility environments

  • Deep familiarity with Southeastern utility systems, permitting processes, and regulatory frameworks

  • Proficiency with project management and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, PLS-CADD, CYME, Primavera P6, MS Project)

  • Demonstrated success in leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering high-quality engineering solutions

  • Excellent communication, client management, and negotiation skills

  • Ability to travel regionally within the Southeast for client meetings and site assessments

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PE License in a Southeastern U.S. state (or ability to obtain within 6 months)

  • PMP or similar project management certification

  • Experience working with major Southeastern utilities (e.g., Southern Company, Duke Energy, Entergy, Dominion Energy)

  • Knowledge of undergrounding programs, grid modernization, and renewable energy integration

  • Familiarity with FEMA guidelines, regional storm hardening practices, and resilience-focused design

Benefits & Compensation:
FindTalent’s client offers a robust compensation package that includes:

  • Competitive Base Salary (Dependent on Experience)

  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance Options

  • 401(k) with Company Match and Annual Profit Sharing

  • Paid Time Off, Company Holidays, and Sick Leave

  • Life and Disability Insurance Coverage

  • Per Diem and Travel Reimbursement for Site Visits

  • Career Development and Tuition Reimbursement

  • Wellness Programs and Employee Assistance Resources
