Job Summary:
The Arizona Attorney General's Office State Government Division/Employment Law Section is seeking a Senior Litigation Counsel.
Job Duties:
Represent the State and State employees in administrative proceedings and in federal and state court litigation referred pursuant to A.R.S. 41-621. Review, evaluate, monitor, and advise the Risk Management Division regarding statutory notices of claim and lawsuits regarding potential exposure; read and analyze recent court decisions and rule changes affecting areas of practice; make recommendations regarding settlement. Mentor and advise newer, less experienced attorneys; provide advice, consultation, work review, and co-counsel. Research and draft legal documents, memoranda, and appellate briefs, correspondence, and settlement agreements. Prepare for and attend hearings and depositions in Phoenix and other Arizona locations, including virtually. Attend office and staff meetings, handle office administrative matters. Other duties as assigned as related to the position.
