Senior Data Engineer – AI Infrastructure & Agentic Systems

Description
Senior-level engineer providing hands-on architecture, development, and technical leadership across AI, cloud, and data initiatives. This role requires deep technical expertise in modern AI infrastructure, agentic systems, and cloud architecture, with a strong commitment to hands-on coding and implementation — not purely design/architecture.

Essential Functions

• Design and implement AI solutions using agentic patterns and core AI components
• Design and develop scalable systems across AWS and on-premises environments
• Actively code and contribute to production AI systems
• Lead Snowflake migration: data migration, services migration, fast-access database migration, and enterprise service integrations
• Lead centralized data classification, GW Chat integration, agentic application development, member longitudinal summary work, vulnerability remediation automation, and legacy modernization
• Mentor and guide development teams on AI best practices
• Evaluate and integrate emerging AI technologies and frameworks
• Provide deep technical guidance on the Cloudera Data Platform ecosystem — supporting current workloads, modernization planning, and migration readiness

Required Skills/Tools

• AWS AI/ML services: EC2, Lambda, SageMaker (or equivalent)
• Agentic systems: proven experience building/deploying agent-based architectures
• MCP (Model Context Protocol): on-premises and cloud implementations
• Agentic patterns: multi-agent systems, orchestration, tool integration
• Core AI components: LLMs, embeddings, vector databases, retrieval systems, prompt engineering
• Production deployment experience (dev → production for AI systems)
• Java, Python, Node, React
• Snowflake (migration experience required)
• Cloudera Data Platform, DB2, Fast Access Databases
• DBT, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Iceberg tables, Dell Boomi

Preferred

• Hybrid cloud architecture (AWS + on-premises)
• Containerization/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• CI/CD pipelines for AI/ML workloads

Experience
5+ years professional experience in technical design and coding; senior-level architecture experience across data/cloud/AI initiatives

Education
Related Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

Work Environment
Hybrid — schedule determined by role requirements/business needs. Occasional travel to corporate/regional offices may be required.
