ADP is seeking a Senior Counsel Retirement Services.
The successful candidate will provide operational, regulatory, and contractual legal guidance to the business unit relating to all ADP Retirement Services products, services, and client companies. Provides advice and support on a wide variety of legal matters to Retirement Services management and staff with a focus on developing and representing a legal perspective in the resolution of client disputes and escalations. This position will also focus on providing advice regarding regulated entities of Retirement Services, including ADP Strategic Plan Services, a registered investment advisor, and ADP Retirement Trust Services, a NH-state chartered trust company. You will engage with a number of business and legal subject matter experts in order to collaborate on optimal solutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Resolve potential claims and/or lawsuits with clients. • Evaluate and provide advice and direction with respect to diverse projects relating to systems enhancements, communication materials, new product development, marketing alliances, and other similar initiatives to ensure those projects and initiatives comply with applicable laws and do not expose ADP to unacceptable legal risks. • Resolve day-to-day operational and compliance questions. • Review marketing materials. • Serves as a legal resource for Retirement Services in resolving disputes and representing ADP interests in client and vendor negotiations and relationship management.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Law School JD required.
5 years of legal experience, particularly in the areas of Corporate Contracts, Financial Services, tax-qualified plans, or FINRA.
Experience in the 401k recordkeeping industry or as outside counsel to 401k record-keepers is a plus.
Must be a strong business partner with the ability to solve legal issues with the business solutions in mind.
Excellent written and oral skills required, including the ability to communicate clearly and simply to all levels of associates, legal, and non-legal.
Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently without close daily supervision and be able to take substantial responsibility for completion of their projects.
Demonstrated experience and skill at contract drafting, negotiation, and interpretation is a plus.
Experience at a financial services or insurance company within the retirement plan recordkeeping business unit is a plus.
