Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Counsel to join its Dallas litigation team and handle a sophisticated docket of third-party insurance defense matters.
This is an excellent opportunity for an established defense litigator who is comfortable independently managing cases while still having access to experienced partners, strong support, and the resources of a respected Texas litigation firm.
Responsibilities include:
Independently manage third-party defense matters from initial assignment through resolution
Develop case strategy and evaluate liability, damages, exposure, and settlement opportunities
Draft and argue substantive motions and handle court appearances
Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, experts, and corporate representatives
Attend mediations and negotiate settlements
Work directly with insurance carriers and other sophisticated clients
Prepare matters for trial and participate in trials as appropriate
Supervise and collaborate with associates, paralegals, experts, and support staff
Maintain clear, strategic communication with clients throughout the life of each matter
Ideal Background:
7+ years of civil litigation experience
Strong background in third-party insurance defense
Experience handling matters such as general liability, premises liability, transportation/trucking, construction, catastrophic injury, or other complex casualty litigation
Ability to independently manage a litigation docket
Strong deposition, motion practice, mediation, and case strategy experience
Trial experience is highly valued
Active Texas Bar license
