Job DetailsWe are seeking a Senior Associate – Electrical Engineering to provide both technical and business leadership for our growing Boston office.
This is much more than a senior design position. You will serve as a technical authority for the Boston electrical department while also playing an important role in growing the firm's presence throughout the Boston market.
You'll lead projects from conceptual design through construction, mentor engineers and designers, develop client relationships, pursue new business, and partner with firm leadership on the continued growth of the practice.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead electrical engineering projects from conceptual design through construction completion
- Develop system criteria, equipment-room requirements, and building infrastructure strategies
- Oversee SD, DD, CD, specifications, and construction administration
- Review shop drawings, RFIs, contractor change orders, and other project documentation
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and punch-list activities
- Manage project schedules, resources, budgets, and deliverables
- Provide technical oversight for complex electrical engineering challenges
- Establish and maintain engineering and design-quality standards
- Lead and mentor electrical engineers and designers
- Provide performance feedback and support employee development
- Develop proposals and additional-service opportunities
- Build and maintain relationships with clients throughout the Boston market
- Identify and pursue new project and revenue opportunities
- Expand existing accounts and originate new client relationships
- Partner with leadership on market-specific business development strategies
- Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and client meetings
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
- 10–14+ years of electrical engineering experience
- Strong background in MEP/building systems electrical design
- Advanced understanding of electrical codes, systems, calculations, and coordination requirements
- Experience delivering projects through SD, DD, CD, specifications, and construction administration
- Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD
- Strong project management and team leadership experience
- Experience mentoring engineers and designers
- Demonstrated business development and client relationship experience
- Experience originating opportunities, developing proposals, and contributing to revenue growth
- Established Boston-area client and industry relationships highly desirable
- Ability to serve as the senior technical resource and decision-maker for an electrical engineering practice
