JOB DESCRIPTION: Our client, a large defense contractor, has an immediate opening for a Senior Engineering Technician to work from their Taunton, MA facility. As a Senior Advvanced Engineering Technician you will be in support of a key cross-functional Hardware Engineering team designing complex, mission-critical systems. You will have the opportunity to be involved with program phases to include Electrical and Mechanical prototype/pre-production design builds, cable/cable harness fabrication and system/sub-system chassis integration and assembly where you will identify and provide feedback of potential issues or improvements prior to production. Responsibilities will include the ability to understand Electrical and Mechanical drawing designs, interconnects and use of hand tools to build and integrate system and sub-system components - cable, wiring, chassis build & integration. Additional responsibilities include the understanding and following of circuit board rework instructions replacing surface mount and through hole components and white wire additions.
This may entail performing the following: Interprets engineering drawings, diagrams and schematics, and understand the necessary interfaces
Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions or defined plans to perform fabrication, assembly, testing and checkout.

Familiar with military style connectors, for example D38999

An Associate's degree in related discipline or minimum of 5 years of relevant experience

QUALIFICATIONS: Associate's degree in related discipline or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience is required plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
