We are hiring an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to review tax returns, support client accounting engagements, and help maintain quality and workflow standards across a growing public accounting practice.
We are specifically looking for someone with public accounting experience who has reviewed individual and business tax returns—not only prepared them. The right candidate can identify errors, resolve missing information, communicate directly with clients, and ensure work is accurate and ready for filing.
This is not a bookkeeping, data-entry, or AP/AR position. You will take ownership of return review, client communication, tax-ready financials, and workflow quality while providing guidance to junior or offshore accounting staff.
Responsibilities
Review individual, partnership, S-corporation, and corporate tax returns for accuracy and compliance
Identify errors, missing documents, inconsistent information, and potential tax risks before filing
Communicate with clients regarding tax documents, filing questions, deadlines, and financial information
Review and adjust QuickBooks records to ensure accurate tax reporting
Support month-end, year-end, and tax-season workflows across multiple client accounts
Provide guidance and quality control for junior accountants and offshore support staff
Assist with tax planning, workflow improvements, and internal process standardization
Manage multiple client engagements while meeting filing deadlines and service expectations
Requirements
5+ years of public accounting or tax accounting experience
Direct experience reviewing tax returns required
Experience with individual and business returns, including partnerships, S corporations, and corporations
Strong QuickBooks and general ledger accounting experience
Experience working directly with clients in a public accounting environment
Ability to work independently in a hybrid setting and manage multiple deadlines
Strong attention to detail, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Benefits
Competitive salary based on experience
Health insurance and benefits package
Retirement plan options
Paid time off
Additional company-sponsored benefits
Opportunity to help strengthen client service and firm-wide tax workflows
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced tax accountant who enjoys reviewing complex work, supporting clients, and improving accuracy across a public accounting practice.
