Senior Accountant - Development & Construction 90-110K Base + Bonus

This position will support residential and commercial development projects and be responsible for construction accounting, job costing, financial reporting, loan draws, and project budget tracking. We are partnering with a growing real estate development organization in South Florida seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Development & Construction Accounting team.

Senior Accountant – Development & Construction | 90-110K + bonus
Location: West Palm Beach, FL
Schedule: Hybrid (4 days onsite, 1 day remote)

We are partnering with a growing real estate development organization in South Florida seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Development & Construction Accounting team.

This position will support residential and commercial development projects and be responsible for construction accounting, job costing, financial reporting, loan draws, and project budget tracking. The ideal candidate will have experience within development or construction accounting and thrive in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting workpapers in accordance with GAAP
• Review general ledger activity and prepare accruals and adjusting journal entries
• Prepare construction loan requisitions and monitor project funding activity
• Review and code contractor and vendor invoices while tracking project budgets
• Analyze job cost reports and ensure project costs are accurately recorded
• Assist with annual audits and lender reporting requirements
• Collaborate with project managers, lenders, and external partners on financial reporting and project accounting matters
• Support special projects and process improvement initiatives

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required)
• 3+ years of development or construction accounting experience
• Public accounting candidates with real estate or construction client exposure are encouraged to apply
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
• Advanced Excel skills
• CPA is a plus
