Description

PGS Worldwide is seeking Secret-Cleared GNC Engineers in Chandler, Arizona for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. Multiple positions are available across several experience levels. These roles will develop, analyze, and validate guidance, navigation, and control solutions for advanced aerospace, missile, spacecraft, and launch vehicle systems.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline with at least 5 years of relevant professional experience; or a master’s degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Active U.S. Government Secret clearance required.
  • Experience with guidance, navigation, and/or control concepts, algorithms, or analysis for aerospace or missile systems.
  • Experience supporting development, modeling, simulation, integration, test, or analysis of aerospace or autonomous systems.
  • Experience with C++, Python, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar technical software tools.
  • Experience developing software or analytical tools in a Linux environment.
  • Experience with mathematical modeling, control theory, and algorithm development.
  • Experience developing or maintaining six-degree-of-freedom (6-DOF) simulations.
  • U.S. citizenship required.

Higher-level positions require progressively greater experience leading or significantly contributing to GNC development, modeling, simulation, integration, analysis, and technical direction.

Preferred Skills

  • Master’s or PhD in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Strong foundation in control systems theory and guidance-law development.
  • Experience applying control-system concepts to flight software.
  • Experience with Kalman filtering, state estimation, tracking, or discrimination algorithms.
  • Experience with GPS anti-jam techniques and M-code.
  • Experience with trajectory analysis and optimization.
  • Experience with rigid-body dynamics, PID control, LQR, or related control techniques.
  • Experience with C++ and Python software development.
  • Experience with Jira, version control, and continuous integration workflows.
  • Experience mentoring engineers or providing technical leadership.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and evaluate guidance, navigation, and control solutions for advanced aerospace systems.
  • Design, develop, implement, verify, and test flight and simulation software.
  • Build and maintain 6-DOF simulations used to develop, analyze, and validate flight algorithms and flight code.
  • Apply mathematical modeling and control theory to navigation, guidance, and control problems.
  • Develop and evaluate trajectory-analysis and optimization approaches.
  • Integrate hardware and software components into simulation and test environments.
  • Optimize flight and simulation software for performance, robustness, and maintainability.
  • Conduct performance assessments, trade studies, and technical analyses.
  • Support system integration, verification, and test activities.
  • Present technical findings, risks, and recommendations to engineering and program leadership.
  • Depending on experience level, mentor less-experienced engineers and provide technical direction.

Work Schedule / Shift

  • Full-time onsite in Chandler, Arizona.
  • 9/80A schedule with every other Friday off.
  • Telecommuting is not available for these positions.

Pay

  • $93.33–$120.00 per hour, depending on experience level and position.
