School of Social Work Administrative Assistant
St. Ambrose University is seeking a School of Social Work Administrative Assistant to provide professional-level administrative support to the School of Social Work. This position plays a critical role in supporting practicum operations, accreditation activities, admissions coordination, and overall program administration.
Key Responsibilities
Provide administrative support to the Director of Practicum Education, the Director of the BSW Program, and faculty, including:
Accreditation requirement tracking
Preparation of meeting materials and minutes
Participation in school and departmental meetings
Support for orientations, course delivery needs, and community-building activities
Support BSW admissions and recruitment processes, including application tracking, software management, and related administrative tasks.
Coordinate and provide administrative support for special events in the School of Social Work, including honors society activities, the Social Justice Conference, the fall ethics event, and other program-related events.
Provide administrative assistance to the Practicum Department, including maintaining records, supporting placement planning, assisting with orientations, and updating manuals and program materials.
Facilitate and manage the School of Social Work's social media presence.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma and four (4) years of experience in an administrative, educational, or related field. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Demonstrated experience in office coordination and administrative support.
Experience supporting students or working in a student-focused environment preferred.
Proficiency with digital databases, office software, and technology systems.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
