Careerscape is recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established retail brand in San Diego, for an experienced Retail Store Manager to lead daily operations at one of their busy storefront locations. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on leader who thrives on driving sales, building high-performing teams, and delivering an outstanding customer experience.
Day to day, you will be on the sales floor coaching associates, managing schedules and inventory, and making real-time decisions that keep the store running smoothly and profitably. The ideal candidate is a natural motivator who stays calm under pressure, loves retail's fast pace, and takes pride in building a store team and customer base that keeps coming back.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily store operations and ensure a smooth, efficient customer experience
- Recruit, train, and develop a team of sales associates and assistant managers
- Set and monitor sales goals, tracking performance against budget and KPIs
- Manage staff scheduling, payroll hours, and labor cost control
- Maintain inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and loss prevention practices
- Ensure visual merchandising standards and store presentation meet brand guidelines
- Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally to protect brand reputation
- Analyze sales reports and adjust strategies to maximize store profitability
- Enforce company policies, safety standards, and compliance requirements
- Partner with district and regional leadership on store initiatives and promotions
Requirements
- 3+ years of retail management or supervisory experience
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Strong leadership and team building skills
- Experience with inventory management and point of sale systems
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution abilities
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Proficiency with basic scheduling, reporting, and Microsoft Office tools
- High school diploma required, bachelor's degree preferred
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 25 pounds during shifts
