Remote Part-Time Paralegal

Scion Staffing is conducting a search for a Temporary Part-Time Paralegal on behalf of an innovative and growing company in the renewable energy industry. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced paralegal who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can independently manage complex criminal and civil litigation matters across multiple jurisdictions.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and electronically file federal criminal case documents through PACER, including matters before U.S. District Courts and U.S. Courts of Appeals.
  • Prepare, review, and file civil litigation documents in county, state, and appellate courts.
  • Monitor and manage litigation deadlines across federal, state, county, and appellate courts, ensuring all filings and case requirements are completed on time.
  • Conduct legal research and summarize findings for attorneys.
  • Draft legal documents, correspondence, and case-related materials.
  • Maintain organized case files and legal documentation.
  • Provide timely case status updates and communicate critical deadlines to the legal team.
  • Handle confidential legal information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Provide reliable administrative and litigation support throughout the engagement.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience preparing, reviewing, and filing federal criminal cases through PACER, including filings at both the U.S. District Court and U.S. Court of Appeals levels.
  • Experience preparing and filing civil litigation matters in county and state courts; appellate filing experience is strongly preferred.
  • North Carolina civil litigation filing experience is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of court rules, filing procedures, and litigation deadlines across federal, state, county, and appellate courts.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet competing deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must have access to a personal computer and reliable internet connection for the duration of the assignment.
