Property Accountant

Our fast-growing commercial real estate company is seeking a highly motivated Property Accountant to join our dynamic accounting team. This role is critical to maintaining the financial health of our properties and involves managing daily financial reporting and accounting activities. Key Responsibilities

• Administer tenant files, including managing security deposits in accounting software.
• Process tenant move-ins and move-outs by interpreting and inputting lease agreements.
• Complete security deposit accounting for resident move-outs.
• Maintain accurate rent rolls and vacancy loss reports.
• Set up new properties in the accounting system.
• Prepare and review journal entries.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and bank activity monthly.
• Calculate and submit monthly sales tax returns.
• Process mortgage loan payments and perform data entry.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and yearly common area maintenance (CAM) charges/estimates.
• Contribute to the annual budgeting process and input budgets into accounting software.
• Assist with other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelors Degree or at least 6 years experience and currently pursuing a bachelor's degree. 
• CPA is a huge bonus but not required
• Prior experience in the commercial property management industry.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Deadline-driven and able to work at a steady, fast pace.
