1. Explain what the scope of the work/project is? Project Overview, deliverables (what is this person responsible for).

This role supports the capital stagegate process, which is laborintensive and documentheavy. The Project Coordinator will serve as a centralized resource responsible for collecting information from engineers, completing intake and stagegate documentation, submitting materials, and tracking where projects are within the process. The role is meant to alleviate administrative and coordination work currently slowing down the engineering team.

2. What does a typical day look like?

Initially, the role will focus heavily on learning Xcel's stagegate and capital processes. Daytoday work will include proactively reaching out to engineers for required inputs, completing and updating documentation, tracking project status, and coordinating with the stagegate and finance teams when scopes or budgets change. This is a facilitation and coordination role rather than a project management role

The role is collaborative and teamoriented. While the coordinator works closely with the engineering group, they are also expected to independently reach out to other teams and departments as needed without requiring constant oversight

9. What are the work hours/shift (standard, evening, full time/part time, OT required, on-call for 24/7 operation)? Standard business hours with flexibility. Most of the team works between 7:30 AM and 5:00 PM. The environment allows flexible scheduling as long as work hours are met. No OT.
1. What are the top 3-5 skills and qualifications (technology/application/software, etc.) required?

Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel

Experience in a project coordinator or similar supporting role

Ability to understand and work within prebuilt Excel and documentation templates

Organizational and documentation tracking skills

2. What non-technical skills are necessary (i.e., such as communication, problem solving, team player)?

Proactive communication

Ability to work independently without needing close supervision

Followup and auditing mindset

Collaboration across teams

3. Ideal candidate background and how many years required?

35 years of experience

Project coordination experience preferred

Utility or construction background is a strong plus but not required

Onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday

Remote Monday, and Friday

This structure is especially important during onboarding and training, Parking onsite

NOTE: This position maps to our Engineering classification and agencies. This position is intended for roles requiring technical experience such as engineering or construction. Gathers, analyzes, translates and delivers information in clear, concise and meaningful formats based on specific project and/or program requirements and according to established project management standards. Provides the project manager support and assistance in scheduling, documentation, communication, and cost management. Updates the project plan. Assists in information collection and validations. Provides input to project research information. Facilitates collaborative documents and data stores. Helps prepare status reports and presentations. May coordinate the activities of a project sub-team and/or project activities to the extent those efforts might affect completion of assigned tasks. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Must have strong knowledge of MS Office.
