The Program Specialist will increase the quality and effectiveness of classroom instruction by using the gradual release model, which may include (but is not limited to) collaborating with teachers, modeling instruction, co-planning lessons, co-teaching, and providing descriptive actionable feedback to teachers. The Program Specialist will apply evidence-based coaching to build teacher capacity, ultimately fostering improved classroom instruction. The Program Specialist may also provide supplemental targeted English Language Arts instruction using evidence-based practices to increase the achievement of identified students. The Program Specialist will also assist school administrators with Professional Learning Communities, and provide Road to Success Academy (RTSA) curriculum planning support.

Requirements / Qualifications

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Experience: Five or more years of directly-related and progressive teaching experience. Education: A Master's degree related to any one of the following areas: education, curriculum, leadership, English Language Arts, History- Social Science, or secondary education from an institution of higher learning accredited by one of the six regional accreditation associations as recognized by the Council on Postsecondary Accreditation. LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE • Must possess and maintain a valid Single Subject English Teaching credential with a full English Learner authorization (CLAD or equivalent). • A Reading and Literacy added authorization, reading certificate or Reading and Literacy Leadership Specialist Credential is highly desirable
