Job Summary:

Position Title: Program Assistant III
Location: Remote
Duration: 2 months
Work Schedule: Weekdays (8am - 5pm) Schedule can be flexible.
Pay rate: $15.00-$18.09/hr
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Compile and organize information regarding workforce development initiatives serving individuals with barriers to employment, including but not limited to, the Worker Advancement Initiative (WAI), Workforce Innovation Grants (WIG), Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) discretionary grants, and other state and federally funded workforce programs. For each project, document grant and funding source, project period, target population(s), industry focus, geographic coverage, key partners, planned outcomes, and reported outcomes.
  • Review grant applications, reports, policies, performance reports, monitoring findings, and other available documentation to identify common program models, service delivery approaches, participant support strategies, employer engagement practices, credential attainment approaches, and sector-based workforce strategies. Develop summary reports highlighting recurring themes and observations.
  • Compile information regarding local Workforce Development Board (WDB) activities related to special population initiatives. Identify and document notable accomplishments, innovative approaches, partnership structures, operational challenges, and lessons learned.
  • Collect and organize available performance information including enrollment, completion, credential attainment, employment placement, retention, earnings, and employer participation. Develop comparative tables and dashboards that summarize available outcomes across projects and initiatives.
  • Prepare a final summary report that includes an inventory of reviewed programs, summary of target populations served, summary of sector strategies, key partnerships, outcome summaries, observed strengths, observed challenges, and examples of innovative or promising practices. This report should present findings and observations and may identify topics for future policy consideration by DWD leadership.
