Minimum qualifications:
JD, LL.B., equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience.
7 years of attorney-level experience in government, in-house, or at a law firm.
Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the state in which the position is located.

As a Product Counsel on the Core+ Legal team, youll join a collaborative group supporting Core, gTech and key Business Functions. In this role, youll advise on novel projects and launches that keep Google safe, cohesive, and impactful for users, developers and Googlers. Your work will be varied. You could find yourself advising on responsible AI transformation/agentic development, strengthening privacy protections or detecting novel security threats. Whatever you work on, youll be transforming how Google operates and helping deliver cohesive, trusted experiences for everyone.
Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
US: $252000 - $351000 (USD) + 25% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities
Advise on a strategic portfolio of products within Core, gTech or key Business Functions with Google wide impact.
Identify and solve complex issues in areas such as generative AI, agentic development, privacy, IP, open source, competition, content moderation/safety, accessibility, and consumer protection.
Provide risk-calibrated guidance to enable compliance with existing and new laws.
Collaborate with other legal teams, business teams, and cross-functional partners.
