Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a purchasing department or related healthcare procurement environment
  • Experience purchasing commodities, supplies, equipment, and services
Job Responsibilities
  • Review purchase requisitions for completeness, accuracy, approvals, specifications, and purchasing requirements.
  • Process and edit requisitions for routine supplies, equipment, and services.
  • Create and process purchase orders with accurate vendor information, quantities, pricing, and terms.
  • Place orders with suppliers and confirm current contract pricing and delivery expectations.
  • Follow up with vendors regarding pricing, order status, backorders, and deliveries.
  • Perform purchase order data entry and maintain accurate purchasing records.
  • Assist with purchasing contracts, contract renewals, and supplier evaluations.
  • Support price and purchasing term negotiations under the direction of Purchasing leadership.
  • Perform competitive bidding for goods, equipment, and services in accordance with purchasing policies.
  • Identify cost-effective products and alternative sources of supply.
  • Coordinate with departments, Receiving, vendors, and Accounts Payable to resolve invoice and delivery discrepancies.
  • Process repair requests and related documentation for equipment requiring service.
  • Build strong working relationships with department managers and understand their purchasing requirements.
  • Maintain knowledge of assigned commodities, products, suppliers, and emerging technologies.
  • Serve as a purchasing resource for assigned departments by providing product and vendor information.
  • Support responsible, cost-effective purchasing while adhering to organizational policies and procedures.
