IDR is seeking a Platform Engineer to join one of our top clients for a remote opportunity. This role is ideal for an experienced software engineer focused on developer platforms, data streaming, and micro-frontend frameworks within a technology organization dedicated to innovation and reliability.
Position Overview for the Platform Engineer:
- Design, implement, and operate Kafka/Debezium CDC patterns that capture SQL database changes and publish well-structured events to Kafka topics.
- Build reusable paved paths and self-service workflows for event-streaming adoption, including opportunities to expose onboarding through Backstage templates/scaffolder.
- Contribute to Backstage developer portal adoption, plugin/template enhancements, service catalog quality, and developer documentation.
- Support and improve the teams React micro-frontend framework through upgrades, maintainability improvements, and developer experience enhancements.
- Assist in MuleSoft platform operations and integration engineering needs, including platform upgrades, API lifecycle support, observability, and secure deployment practices.
Requirements for the Platform Engineer:
- Kafka / event-driven architecture MUST HAVE
- SQL + CDC VERY IMPORTANT
- Debezium HIGHLY PREFERRED
- Platform engineering / developer experience VERY IMPORTANT
- TypeScript/React important but probably trainable
