People Operations & Talent Acquisition Manager
VHCM | Gainesville/Newberry, FL | Hybrid | Full-time.

VHCM supports two growing veterinary organizations:
Community Care Veterinary Specialists, a specialty and emergency hospital, and Newberry Animal Hospital Group, a 4-location general practice. We're hiring our first dedicated people leader to build HR and recruiting across both.
This role is about 55% recruiting and 45% HR, and reports directly to the COO. There's no big HR department to inherit. You'll build the systems.
What you'll do:
- Own full-cycle recruiting across both organizations, including DVMs.
- Build pipelines through vet schools, tech programs, referrals, and externships.
- Standardize our hiring workflow and applicant tracking system.
- Update policies and the employee manual, and support compliance (FMLA, ADA, workers' comp).
- Set the performance review cadence and lead the annual comp review.
What you bring:
- 4+ years in talent acquisition or full-cycle recruiting.
- Experience building programs or supervising others.
- Working knowledge of employment law and payroll.
- Strong organization. You'll juggle open roles across 5 locations.
- SHRM certification and veterinary or healthcare experience are a plus
