    Description

    Job Title: Health Information Specialst
    Location: Remote
    Shift: Day 5 x8 (8:00 - 17:00)
    Contract Length: 26 weeks
    Sutter Provides all Equipment

    Requirements:

    * 2 years of Epic EHR experience supporting patient identity, HIM, and chart correction workflows
    * Experience with EMPI potential duplicate work queues and duplicate medical record resolution
    * Experience performing chart corrections and coordinating medical record merges across systems
    * High school diploma or equivalent education/experience
    * Knowledge of HIPAA, patient privacy requirements, and PHI protection
    * Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and electronic health record applications
    * Ability to work a full-time 8-hour/40-hour schedule remotely; days and shift are open
    * Ability to prioritize urgent cases, manage tickets, meet deadlines, and work independently

    Summary / Duties:
    This temporary remote contractor assignment supports Health Information Management data quality from August 10, 2026 through February 15, 2027 while three employees are on extended leave. The eHR Integrity Specialist II will manage Epic EMPI potential duplicate work queues, prioritize admitted patients and patients with upcoming appointments, review patient overlay queues, and verify that demographic changes were completed appropriately. The role also performs chart corrections, coordinates medical record merges across systems, monitors and updates tickets, assists with ticket rotation, and escalates issues to downstream system owners. Work must protect PHI, follow HIPAA and department procedures, and maintain accurate patient records that support patient safety, billing accuracy, revenue cycle performance, regulatory compliance, and timely service levels. Days and shift are open within a full-time 8/40 schedule.
