SUMMARY
The NCE (Newton Community Education) Site Coordinator works closely with NCE, the school administration, parents and custodial staff to ensure that our kids programs run smoothly. While each site has different classes offered on different
days of the week, the role is relatively consistent across the school sites. The NCE Site Coordinator is also responsible for overseeing children enrolled in various afterschool activities.
This is a part time role with a schedule of about 6-10 hours a week.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability and commitment to abide by all standards and practices detailed in the Kids Instructor Expectations or Adult Instructor Expectations documents
- Support NCE's commitment to inclusion and access by participating in the Financial Assistance Policy
- An inclusive mindset and commitment to engaging all enrolled students regardless of background, level of experience, English language ability, etc
- History of reliability, punctuality, and overall responsibility
- Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills
- Proficiency in a second language a plus
- Excellent references
- Clean CORI/SORI/fingerprint background check
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Site coordinator and event management experience preferred
- Previous education experience preferred
- Strong customer service and interpersonal communications skills preferred
JOB FUNCTIONS
- Oversee children enrolled in various afterschool activities
- Check on and update student class rosters for specific sites
- Responsible for gathering participating children in one area and bringing them to their activity
- Assist with directing instructors and participants from other schools to the classroom their activity is scheduled in
- Work collaboratively with the kids program coordinator, instructors, custodial staff and sometimes the executive assistant to ensure that problems are sorted out before they become bigger problems that require involvement from administration
- Assist with ensuring that participants go with the appropriate adult or are self-dismissed at the end of the day
- Contact office with problems that relate to pick-up
- Check in with the instructors on site at the conclusion of class to find out if there is anything that needs to be communicated with the NCE office
- Complete accurate time sheets for submission to help with weekly forecasting
- Learn and manage emergency procedures and protocols for the school building
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to operate computer, printer, telephone, copier, facsimile machine, and all other standard office equipment
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Sufficient mobility to navigate within a large or small school building
- Regularly required to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds
