Job Description

The Foundation Executive Director will provide the leadership, direction, and coordination for a comprehensive “friend-raising” and fundraising program that supports the mission of the college and the Foundations. The Executive Director must build a multifaceted program that includes strategies for donor research, prospecting, and cultivation, and fundraising through individual and corporate gifts, major gifts, planned giving and scholarship campaigns. The Executive Director will motivate, guide, and coordinate the efforts of the Foundation Boards and appropriate college staff to advance the goals of the colleges and the Foundations. The Executive Director will also oversee alumni relations and scholarship programs. This position involves significant discretion and substantial involvement in the development, interpretation and implementation of both institution and program policy.

Salary Range:

$89,275-$142,953 annually

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum three (3) years of leadership in advancement, development, and marketing activities with the intent of fund raising.

  • Communication skills, including the ability to write clearly and speak persuasively to diverse audiences, convey complex ideas, and inspire support for an organization's mission or goals.

  • Demonstrated experience in donor/prospect cultivation and solicitation processes.

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills with ability to interact effectively with a wide range of constituents including board members, donors, donor prospects, legislators, financial professionals, faculty, staff, and administrative leadership.

  • Demonstrated management experience with proven record of successful fundraising programs.

  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with constituents in a diverse multicultural and multiracial community

Preferred Qualification

  • Leadership experience in higher education or non-profit organizations.

  • Experience in budget development and management.

  • Previous supervisory experience.

  • Knowledge of campaign management, annual giving programs, corporate and foundation relations, alumni affairs, and media and/or communications
