Engineer to support our engineering and production teams with highly
accurate 3D modeling, drafting, and CNC-ready outputs.
Position Overview
The Microvellum Engineer is responsible for developing and
maintaining detailed 3D models, shop drawings, and production-ready data within
Microvellum software. This role requires strong technical knowledge of millwork
design and manufacturing, the ability to interpret architectural drawings, and
collaboration across engineering, project management, and production to ensure
projects flow seamlessly from design to fabrication.
Key Responsibilities
- Create
and manage detailed 3D models and shop drawings using Microvellum.
- Generate
CNC machine code, cut lists, and material take-offs directly from
Microvellum for production.
- Interpret
architectural and design drawings, translating them into fabrication-ready
documents.
- Collaborate
with project managers, engineers, and production staff to ensure accuracy
and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain
Microvellum libraries, standards, and templates for consistent project
execution.
- Support
drafting and engineering teams with submittal drawings and revisions.
- Ensure
all outputs align with project specifications, quality standards, and
deadlines.
- Troubleshoot
software and workflow issues related to Microvellum and CAD integration.
- Assist
with continuous improvement initiatives to optimize drafting and
production efficiency.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Associate’s
degree or technical training in drafting, design, or engineering
preferred.
- 2+
years of experience using Microvellum software in a millwork,
cabinetry, or woodworking environment.
- Proficiency
with AutoCAD (required); additional experience with Revit, Inventor, or
other CAD/CAM software is a plus.
- Strong
understanding of millwork fabrication methods, joinery, and materials.
- Ability
to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
- Strong
organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Effective
communication and collaboration skills across teams.
