Medicaid Financial Coordinator (Suffolk County)

Skilled Nursing Facilities located in Suffolk County, Long Island are seeking Medicaid Financial Coordinators with Medicaid Nursing Facility Experience or Relatable Medicaid Experience

Location: Suffolk County

Responsibilities include:

• Processing of Medicaid Applications, Conversions and Recertifications.
• Meeting with resident and or representative and analysis of all financial documents necessary to process the application.
• Redirecting of income (NAMI) and monitoring that all necessary forms are completed and submitted to Business Office. Remains current with all in house residents’ financial status and communicates any barriers to payment to both the facility and business office.
• Preparation for meetings with supervisor and other facility staff to review aging and current resident financial profiles.
• Able to work closely with the admissions department to ensure that admission agreements are completed. Also, the business office to ensure that all financial loopholes in securing payment are satisfied.
• Strong familiarity with all aspects of current NYS Medicaid regulations, particularly Suffolk County DSS.
• Proficiency in Nursing Facility Programs and Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word. Ability to provide information and reports to supervisor and upper management as needed.
• Interaction with outside agencies and law firms and representation at fair hearing and guardianship proceedings if necessary. Completion of attorney referrals as needed.
• Ability to develop relationships with outside financial and other institutions to obtain needed documentation.
• Candidate should be proactive, a creative thinker and be able to multi-task and communicate effectively with residents/families/representatives and facility staff.

Salary: From $60,000 and up commensurate with experience
