Job Title: Mechanical Technician
Location: Fremont, CA
Pay Rate: $25.00/hr, W 2
Duration: 12+ Month Contract
Summary:
8am - 5pm, Monday to Friday
6am or 7am shift start times
Some weekend coverage as needed, will not start with weekend coverage
Responsibilities:
Operate a cryogenic Air Separation Unit (ASU)
Maintain plant production, operating efficiency, regulatory compliance, and safety
Monitor and maintain the safe operation of an Air Separation Facility producing cryogenic products
Control flow purities, pressures process using SCADA/HMI/PLC system
Work with management to maximize production and efficiency
Read and interpret technical drawings and manuals
Perform quality assurance functions to maintain product quality
Prepare and maintain accurate records in accordance with safety, quality, regulatory, and production requirements
Identify potential problems from collected data and determine if immediate maintenance action is required
Perform complex plant functions, including DERIME and warm plant start-ups
Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance throughout the entire plant
Troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate process and system problems
Take initiative to improve facility operations, reliability, and costs

Ensure 100% compliance with all safety policies and procedures
Assist with safety incident investigations using root cause analysis
Ensure applicable regulatory requirements are met and training and recordkeeping are performed
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED
Two years technical college or military technical experience
Minimum 2 years of operating an Air Separation Plant or related industrial experience
Critical thinking ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and solve issues with process and plant equipment
Ability to use common hand tools and test equipment
Ability to work overtime, off shifts, alone, weekends, and holidays
Requires continuous mental and visual attention to operate equipment, make repairs, and adjustments
Preferred Skills:
Understanding of water treatment principles and equipment
Basic understanding of refrigeration systems
Basic understanding of air separation and associated technologies
