Position Summary
We are seeking a Material Coordinator to support manufacturing operations within a fast-paced production environment. This position serves as a key link between Operations, Supply Management, Engineering, and Warehouse teams to ensure materials are available to support production schedules and customer demand. The role combines inventory management, material coordination, reporting, production support, and cross-functional communication.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in manufacturing, warehouse operations, inventory control, production support, or material planning and possess strong organizational, communication, and Excel skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain manufacturing routings and production-related documentation.
- Review manufactured part prints and production requirements.
- Monitor production and warehouse inventory levels.
- Track forecasted inventory and material availability.
- Coordinate stock transfers between departments.
- Communicate with Supply Management regarding purchased parts and inventory status.
- Manage short-stock and backorder queues.
- Update daily and weekly reports using Excel and Microsoft Office tools.
- Coordinate with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to support production schedules.
- Maintain accurate employee and production records.
- Adapt priorities based on changing business and production needs.
Required Skills
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including reporting and data analysis.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Inventory tracking and material management experience.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and sense of urgency.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Pre-Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Engineering Technology, Computer-Aided Drafting, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Manufacturing, warehouse, production support, or inventory control experience.
- Experience tracking inventory and supporting material movement activities.
- Strong Excel reporting experience, including working with Pivot Tables and large data sets.
- Experience coordinating activities across Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams is preferred.
- ERP/MRP system experience is a plus.
